Staff Email Search

Get-Info-128x128.pngSearch Staff Email Accounts

The District is pleased to announce a new feature that has been requested by parents for some time now... Email Search.  You can now search for email addresses from the district website, allowing you to find staff contact information quickly and easily.

You can go here to find the link to search email accounts. (This is the "Contact Us" Link from the district home page)
This is one feature enhancement that is a part of a much larger upgrade to our district website.  Other enhancements will be coming soon such as improved navigation, better organization of resources and links, better integration of the various website features such as D-Tube, School Matters News Portal, and the PTSA website.  We are striving to make the website easier to find information.

Online Learning

user-group-128x128.pngOnline Learning in Dearborn Schools

We are hard at work to bring together a wide range of interactive and comprehensive online learning tools for students and staff.  We started with iLearn and iBlog for online classrooms and interactive websites.  From there we moved into video sharing with the launch of D-Tube .  The next major improvement will be an extension of the iLearn system to include the ability of students to create personal ePortfolios as well as store files and projects.  Following the ePortfolio system, we will be adding a personal portal feature that will allow you customize and organize all the things you do online into a homepage.  Look for these improvements in the coming months.  We will also be modifying the district website to accommodate some of the new features as well as improve navigation and the presentation of information.

NEWS ITEMS...
AdvancED Visits District
As part of the accreditation process established by AdvancED, a ten member team of educators from Michigan, Indiana, and West Virginia will spend three days evaluating the Dearborn Public Schools beginning Monday, April 28. The team will spend a majority of their time visiting schools and talking with more than 100 people ranging from administrators, support staff, community members, and parents. They will also review hundreds of support documents and other material. Their final meeting will be with the Board of Education at 3:00 pm, Wednesday April 30 in the Board Room. The meeting is open to the public and will provide the visiting team an opportunity to present an oral exit report to the Board.

Before the scheduled visit, the district had to submit a detailed report to AdvancED. The report, called the Standards Assessment Report (SAR), describes and details how the district is meeting the seven standards established by AdvancED. The report includes data, information, evidence and documented results to validate the districts claim that it is meeting the AdvancED standards.  In addition, the report helps the district to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.  The visiting team will use the information in the report and information obtained during the on-site visit to provide feedback to the school system and to make an accreditation recommendation.

AdvancED is the unified organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), and National Study of School Evaluation (NSSE). AdvancED is dedicated to advancing excellence in education through accreditation, research, and professional services.
